Show+choir+prepares+for+competitions
Hours of practice, singing and dancing fills the lives of show choir members as they prepare for their upcoming competition season.
The competition season starts Jan. 25 and 26 when the FHS show choir will be hosting the invitational. The two show choirs, Silver Streak and Silver Sound (the all girls choir), practice everyday in class, as well as after school hours, in order to perfect their routines for the competitions. Silver Streak member senior Patrick Montgomery said that Silver Streak practices after school on Mondays from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. and Thursdays from 6:00 p.m. to 9 p.m. Montgomery is prepared to take on the competition season and looks forward to it.
“I am looking forward to meeting people from other schools and other show choirs and seeing their interpretations of the shows,” Montgomery said. “As this is my first year in a show choir, I look forward to putting on the best show I can and in general making people happy. Getting to know the show choir side of music has been amazing this year.”
