February 10-14 the FHS varsity cheer team competed at UCA [Universal Cheerleaders Association] national high school cheer championships in Orlando, Florida.

There are three rounds to go to get to the finals. First was the prelims; there were over 40 teams competing. Then the second day was semi finals with only 20 teams. Then the judges chose the top 11 teams for the finals.

The first day the girls hit a 0 deduction routine as well as the second day.

“High school nationals is very competitive and our goal was to make it to finals and we did just that,” coach Danielle Thompson said.

The girls placed 10 out of 11 in the finals.
