The school’s founder, Wilhelm von Humboldt, implemented a novel educational model at the university, which emphasized holistic, curiosity-driven learning, rather than exclusively vocational, market-driven learning.

Within its first week of being released, rapper Kendrick Lamar’s album “DAMN,”  already has 603,000 sales and downloads. This is the best an album has done in its first week since last year, when Drake dropped “Views,” according to New York Times. Topping the charts on Apple Music and Spotify, “DAMN.” has made its own lane in the music industry.

This album has been long awaited by fans ever since Lamar dropped “untitled unmastered,” in 2016. The album was a collective track list of scraps and unfinished songs that Lamar never dropped, some dating back to 2013. His newest release is quite different than anything he has dropped before though.

“DAMN.” features artists such as Rihanna, U2 and Zacari. The album mixes hard rap and hip-hop with heavy rock guitar and light hearted R&B instrumentals. Lamar discusses love, lust, racial divide, success and being humble on “DAMN.” Each song has an individual feel but all flow together progressively as the album goes on.

Kendrick battles his own demons in songs such as “GOD” and “FEAR”. On tracks such as “LOVE” and “LOYALTY” Lamar opens up and shows a raw side of himself that usually is not up for display of listeners. None the less, Lamar never lets his listeners forget he is the best of best in songs such has “HUMBLE,” the albums’ lead single, “DNA” and “ELEMENT”.

“DAMN.” lifts the mask of Lamar and lets the listener see into his personal mind and inner workings. This is definitely a personal favorite due to its diversity and content. “DAMN.” is available for streaming and download on Apple Music and Spotify.
