Businesses open their doors again

Six months ago, Governor Holcomb mandated a stay-at-home order in March. Only essential businesses were open such as grocery stores and restaurants remained open with limitations. Meg Gibson captured the struggles many of these essential businesses were encountering. Recently, non-essential businesses have reopened and have been faced with new protocols due to COVID-19. This story will be a six month update of essential and non-essential businesses.

On the door of Gallery 116 located in downtown Fishers, a sign states face masks are required for entry. “We actually planned on opening sooner and then it [COVID-19] started getting worse and the mask mandate came along, so we waited,” assistant manager Taylor Hall said. “ We finally opened on June 1.”
