The school’s founder, Wilhelm von Humboldt, implemented a novel educational model at the university, which emphasized holistic, curiosity-driven learning, rather than exclusively vocational, market-driven learning.

What a year it has been! I have been working with most of you guys for two and a half years, others less, and it has been a pleasure. I am sad to see this journey ending, but happy to see all of us heading toward a new one. Getting to know all of you has been one of the best parts of high school, I honestly could not have asked for better staff members to work with.

I hope that my next journey provides me with great colleagues like you guys. The time that I have spent with this staff is one of the most memorable of my high school career, which I am sure I will cherish throughout my life. I can not thank you enough.

Not coming to A218 fourth period almost everyday will be a heck of an adjustment. I will miss our late night work sessions, Moe’s catering, Ball State’s summer workshop and J-Days. Until then, I hope to see you all succeed… let the journey begin!

After three years of being on staff, it is time to say bye. Even though I am unsure about whether or not I will continue with journalism, I am sure that wherever I go I will be ready to face social, ethical and timely challenges thanks to this journalism class. I will miss all the times where I annoyed Natalie, Jasmine and Bailey, all the times that Ryan and I roasted each other and all the one time where I broke the table. Everyone has made a positive impact in my life, and I want to thank them for that. I also want to thank Mrs. Brown because she has made the three years in this class fun and enjoyable, and she has helped me out countless times. I guess it is true that all good things must come to an end.

Thank God its over…. Not really. I’ve been on staff for the past three years and it has been really impactful on me. It has not always been fun, but writing from the newspaper has always been a fulfilling experience.

I would like to thank everyone that I have had a chance to work with on staff, whether they liked to work with me or not. Special shoutout to my fellow seniors on staff this year, Miranda, Luka, Maria, Jasmine and Natalie, we have all been through so much together the past few years. Everyone else was dope as well.

I can’t even believe I am writing this. These past two years in newspaper have flown by, and I can be happy to say that they were wonderful years. I want to thank all of newspaper for just being straight up awesome, and for helping me improve my writing and the way I see different topics. My writing has improved and it has just been a great time with everyone.

My encouragement to future newspaper members and underclassmen is this: enjoy and make the most of every opportunity you get while you can. Looking back throughout high school, I regret the opportunities I did not take advantage of more than the times I made the most of things. A popular theologist named Jonathan Edwards once stated “Resolved to live with all my might while I do live”, and as cliche as it sounds, this is my advice to you. High school flies by, faster than most expect, and there are wonderful memories from the experience that one will be able to look back on one day.

It has been a fun time newspaper staff, and I wish you all the best in everything you do.

Miranda Lyons

Well, I’m going to make this brief…. It’s been nice knowing you all. It’s been a good long run, but like most sagas it must come to an end. Although I wish I could be here longer, I must go. Just kidding. I’m pretty siked for college. Newspaper has been a good time for me, but I must move on. I’m sure you’ll do fine without me.
