Juniors proved victorious at the powderpuff football game on Wednesday, Sept. 23, beating the seniors in the final game 18-0.
The first game of the night was the seniors against sophomores, with the seniors winning 8-6 after a close second half. Next was juniors against freshmen; juniors won 30-0. Seniors and juniors then played a championship game, where juniors won the game by three touchdowns.
“These kids worked really hard; they did great. They practiced a lot,” junior coach Lauren Vail said.
Powderpuff football is a tradition for homecoming spirit week and both coaches and players agreed that it is a great way to get students excited for homecoming. More information about homecoming can be found on the daily announcements.
“This is really fun for the school, I wish there was more hype about it because it’s a really fun tradition for homecoming week,” senior Lauren Lewis said.
Lewis was also excited that more people appeared to be in the stands than last year.
“I wish we could play HSE or something, that’d be really cool,” Lewis said.
Powderpuff football differs from regular football in that it has two 12 minute halves per game, there are no tackles, any fumble is considered a turnover, and the field is 60 yards long.
