Softball head coach Aaron Woosley is entering his second season running the program. Naturally, Woosley learned things in his first year and now feels more ready coming into the season.
One of the things Woosley took away from year one was preparation.
“This year we were able to get the program on a strength training program at the start of the school year, so we are much stronger entering this season than last. We have also had several team building activities so coming into the season the players really know each other better and that has extended to the coaching staff,” Woosley said.
Woosley expects to see that preparation translate onto the field.
“We need to be mentally ready for each and every game. I know that we have the talent to compete with anyone but we need to prepare for each opponent and prepare ourselves for every at-bat, for every situation,” Woosley said.
Woosley also mentioned the teams needs to be in the right mental state, have a good attitude and know their responsibilities and says him and his coaching staff need to stay on top of those things with their players.
For his second year, Woosley has high expectations for this more experienced group.
“We have made huge strides from last year. In the next few weeks [we] will see how that translates on the field,” Woosley said.
