Baking, cut crease, winged liner and much more are just a few of the current makeup trends that have been popular in the world of beauty.

According to Cosmopolitan, 2015 and 2016 have been the years of many fashion forward trends. Beauty gurus on platforms such as Youtube and Twitter have been gaining mass following with over 250,ooo followers on Twitter and millions of subscribers on Youtube.

“I feel that makeup is such a popular thing right now because there are so many directions  you can go with a look and it can  enable women to feel confident, beautiful and powerful,” senior Emily Thompson said.

Trends for the upcoming season in makeup involve a smokey eye with wine reds and maroons, dark lips and glowing highlights according to Allure.

“I love the highlighter trend,” Thompson said. “Highlighter can make your skin look so healthy and glowy.”

Many tutorials are also available as well for those who are wanting to learn some new makeup skills. Youtubers like RCL Beauty, Bella Fiori and NikkieTutorials offer a wide variety of makeup looks including natural everyday looks or glam, going out looks.

Makeup brands also play an important role in the world of beauty. Standard high-end brands such as Anastasia Beverly Hills, Urban Decay, Smashbox, and Benefit are just a few of the most popular brands that have been making a huge impact on the beauty world with contouring kits, eye shadow pallets and face products as well.
