Calling all pasta; it is time to kick off the year with the annual FHS vs. HSE Pasta Bowl.
It is time to make a comeback from last year’s loss against the Royals, but also time to donate and feed the hungry to win free donuts. Not only do the students benefit from this, but first period teachers also have the opportunity to win a free jeans day if they collect 50 or more boxes of pasta.
“Pasta Bowl is district wide and the goal of it is to collect food around the area for families in need,” english teacher Haley Care said. “All donations will be distributed to families within our community which is what makes the Pasta Bowl such an impactful event.”
The event started on September 1 8, student volunteers are collecting all the pasta by September 8. Last year, the district collected 17,000 pounds of pasta to be given to families in need.
The yearly Pasta Bowl has been around for years; in 2016, FHS took the Mudsock win for the most pasta collected against the Royals.
“We would love to collect the most pasta against HSE, but at the end of the day, it’s all about helping families in the community ,” Care said.
