Four teams prepare for the annual soccer competition hoping that this will be the year that their language walks away as victors.
The world language clubs, French, Spanish, German, and the combined team of ASL/Japanime competed on Oct. 15 after school in the world language soccer tournament. Each team played in at least one game. The winner of their first game would move on to the championship.
French and German Club competed in the first game. French Clublost 2-1 sending German Club to the championship game. The combined team of ASL/Japanime played Spanish Club in the second game. The close game ended in a tie of 3-3. The two teams competed in a shootout as the tiebreaker. ASL/Japanime beat Spanish Club by scoring two more goals during the shootout.
The championship round between ASL/Japanime and German Club started out with ASL/Japanime leading during the first half of the game. German Club caught

up in the second and ended up defeating ASL/Japanime 3-2. German teacher, Robin Geisinger, enjoys seeing the passion that the players have in the club event.
“It was fun to defend the title we won last year; all the games were really close and any of the teams could have won this year,” Geisinger said. “But in soccer more so than in other sports, sometimes one break of shot o
