With 9 weeks assessments coming up students need to know about good studying tips and skills.
English teacher Ben Beasley says that it is beneficial to study even when there is no homework. He additionally thinks that note taking is imperative and that students should follow the Cornell method of note taking; that all questions the teacher asks are written down along with notes and later summarized. It is important to spread out studying and not cramming before tests.
“[Students] should be studying immediately after class and periodically during the week,” Beasley said. “I don’t think you’re going to have a high retention rate of studying all at the same time.”
Science teacher Christina Graybeal recommends students use flashcards, quiz each other, and making a list and covering one side. She believes students should study 20 to 25 minutes every night.
