This year’s Marching Tiger Band was invited to perform in the 2015 Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day parade. Instead of just performing in the parade, directors Chad Kohler, Charlie Kunz and Scott McCready decided to turn this trip into a sightseeing adventure for members in the band.
After traveling to Philadelphia for the parade, the band traveled to the Big Apple to do some sightseeing and touring of New York. Members took bus tours of the whole city and got the chance to see popular sites such as Strawberry Fields, previous Beatles member John Lennon’s tribute spot, the Empire State building, Top of the Rock, Rockefeller Center, Times Square, Central Park and many more iconic locations.
Members were also able to tour the 9/11 museum and view the reflecting pools. The site included the new Freedom Tower which stands at 1,776 feet in tribute to the birth of the United States and the only remaining tree since the attack.
Travelers also attended the infamous Radio City Christmas Show with the Rockettes and the Broadway musical Aladdin with Tony Award winner James Monroe Inglehart who played the Genie.
