On Friday, Sept. 31 the Tigers defeated the Cathedral Irish who are ranked third in the state 27-17.
Within a couple minutes of the game Cathedral threw an interception that led to a touchdown by senior RJ Potts, making the game 7-0 Fishers. By the end of the first quarter Cathedral caught up and tied the game 7-7 with a touchdown.
Early into the second quarter senior Collin Stark scored for the Irish putting them on top at 14-7. Junior kicker Ben Norton kicked a 15-yard field goal for the Tigers, making the game 14-10 to end the first half.
Junior Isaiah Dunnuck scored first in the second half, making the game 17-14 Tigers. Cathedral tied the game again at 14-14 with less than three minutes left in the third quarter.
“We’ve been through a lot this year and Friday showed us how special of a team we are and what we are capable of. We are just getting started,” junior Isaiah Dunnuck.
RJ Pott scores his second touchdown of the game after getting an interception with only 3 minutes and 17 seconds left in the game. This put the Tigers on top 24-17. Only a few plays into their drive, Cathedral threw another interception caught by junior Bryce Reardon, putting the Tigers at the 35 yard line.
With a short amount of time left the Irish were not able to do anything else in the game, allowing the Tigers to upset the number three football team in Indiana.
