Lady Tigers dig up win against Huskies
FHS took down the Hamilton Heights Huskies in a three set sweep. Final scores of the game were 25-12, 25-9 and 25-11.
“I think I played pretty well,” varsity sophomore Camryn Haworth said. “Overall I did not feel the Huskies were a great team in general so we had to be ready for anything to happen.”
The efforts of the 5-19 Huskies were not enough for the Tigers due to their offensive control during the game. FHS has an overall of 624 kills compared to the Huskies 543 this season.
“During the game we succeeded in our serving and blocking,” varsity senior Audrey Haworth said. “We did not receive many attacks so our dig numbers were not high, but we stayed engaged the whole time so that was good.”
The team has three away games and one home game left before heading out to Westfield on Oct. 11 to battle for sectionals.
“We are preparing for our next game by watching film and practicing what we need to work on, like communication with my teammates,” Camryn said.
The Lady Tigers’ next game will be a double header on the road against Guerin Catholic and Greenfield-Central High School at Greenfield Sep 27.
