The inaugural Day of Service event will take place Friday, April 28 as all 3,700 Fishers High School students will be taking part in numerous community service projects in and outside of Fishers.

The full-day event, run by a committee of student leaders and staff members, has been in the works for the past year as 99 projects were proposed and coordinated to offer many different options. Students were able to sign up for which project they wanted to work on based on their interests.

Projects include landscaping community spaces, volunteering at schools within the district, assisting with projects at local businesses, and many more.

Coverage of this event will be posted over the next week as student journalists collect photos and interviews at projects around the area. This is a continuous story with updates to follow.
