Fishers High School football player, Jev Hutton, has committed to Yale University to continue his football and academic career. The outside linebacker made the decision to play for one of the most respected Ivy League football programs during the fall. He is excited to continue his education and a potential future career in professional football.
“I think the biggest part of my decision was just my value in education at the next level and my love for football,” Hutton said. “Yale has the best program to prepare me to be a better man and potentially a professional football player, especially with their history of sending players to the NFL.” Hutton’s decision highlights his passion for both academics and football, as he balances both.
With a 3.94 GPA and a weighted GPA of 4.46, Hutton has proven himself as a student-athlete who is great on and off the field. “My work ethic, determination and smarts make me stand out,” he said when asked about his skills. His physical abilities on the field have earned him the respect of his coaches as well.
Coach Curt Funk praised Hutton’s toughness, saying “he’s very athletic, tough and he’s hard to block.”
Hutton, who had 63 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 9 tackles for loss and 3 interceptions during his senior season, is excited that his time at Yale will not only further his football career but will also set him up for success after graduation. While he wants to play in the NFL, he is also excited about the educational opportunities that Yale offers.
Hutton’s commitment marks the beginning of a new journey where he combines his love for football with the academics that Yale is known for.
