The Hamilton East Public Library (also known as HEPL) is a place that carries important knowledge in its walls. It also is a keystone of the Fishers community and a place that is appreciated by many Fishers citizens.
HEPL Librarian Rebecca Finch said, “[HEPL] acts as a third space, so we are not only a place where we hold books. We are also a place where you learn and can continue to learn even as an adult.”
HEPL works as a conventional library and takes pride in being a place that builds community among all groups alike.
“We are a hub for everyone, for information,” Finch said, “but also, we want to get people to come together as a group and as a community.”

Students at FHS also regard HEPL as a prominent place in Fishers; whether it be checking out books or meeting with friends, HEPL is known for being a location that fosters community.
“[HEPL] is a great place to get books, and they also have a lot of community events there at the library,” senior Emma Wieseke said.
However, Wieseke is not the only student at FHS who feels this way.
“I think [HEPL] is a very central part of our community because it offers meeting spaces for different groups and also offers collaborative spaces,” senior Sofia Saracino said.

Hamilton East Public Library is a place that does not just contain information but also holds and promotes the idea of community and social interaction.
“We’re always going to be that hub,” Finch said. “And growing our resources to make sure we fulfill the needs of the Fishers community is always going to be very important to us.”
