According to Jennifer Gabbard, the sponsor of the RPG Club, there are a lot of freshmen who joined this year. There’s a good mix of age group and an equal amount of guys and girls out of 30 to 40 students.
Students choose what they play and can change whenever they want. A variety of groups play different games at any given time.
The games the students play are character based. They bring in tabletop based games or card games. Dungeons and Dragons is the most popular at the moment. There are also Magic Gathering, Munchkins and several other games RPG members play.
Anyone can attend the occasional tournaments RPG holds throughout the year. They are held for fun but it also helps fundraising to provide more games / game materials.
“It’s a hobby based club where a lot of students play these games but they don’t know that there are a lot of people who play. It’s a place for them to meet and to play games together and hang out,” Gabbard said.
