Students dressed as Disney royals present themselves in a decorated CCA at the first annual ball in Feb. of 2017.

On Saturday February 16th, the Riley Dance Marathon is having their second annual princess and prince party. This fundraiser is one of many held by the club around this time of year, the primary one being the Dance Marathon taking place on March 22. This event is aimed towards younger children.

With a of cost $20 per child or $40 per family, it has a variety of activities for children to take part in.

“Kids can decorate mini cupcakes donated from Nothing Bundt Cakes and also make and decorate princess tiaras, prince crowns, paper swords and fairy wands,” Club president and Senior Gwyneth Milliken said.

Children will also have the opportunity to take photos with a variety of Disney fairy tale characters, such as Ariel, Cinderella and Aurora. A movie will be aired some time in the morning. There will be no refreshments supplied by the event.

“Last year we raised about $500 and we’re hoping to match or surpass that this year,” Milliken said.

This occupies a portion of the $100,426.87 that the Dance Marathon website states they made last year. The event takes place from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the CCA, they ask for visitors to come through entrance FH19.

“We hope as always that all the guests have fun,” Milliken Said.
