The original members of the Harry Potter Club stage one of their first meetings in 2016. The club has survived since then, but with FHS’s inaugural Yule Ball, it plans to bring in a new wave of members.

Students are welcome to waltz into the wizarding world of Harry Potter at the Yule Ball hosted by Harry Potter Club. The event will be held on Feb. 8 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. in Cafe A.

The event will have food and Harry Potter themed decor and activities. The dress code for the event is formal school dance attire or Harry Potter garb.

“I’ve been very pleased with the student leadership,”  club sponsor and science teacher Brigham French said. “They’ve been very good at organizing and deciding what they want to do. Seeing everyone’s excitement for it has been really great.”

French said students in the club had friends who put together the event at HSE and wanted to bring the event to FHS.

Freshman Hailey Chapman will be attending the event this year with her friends after previously attending the Yule Ball at HSE.

“I think that the HSE one was super fun. It had a fun raffle and good music, but I also think that the Fishers one will have more people attend,” Chapman said. “I’m looking forward to hanging out with my friends and the cool Harry Potter themed decor.”

“We’re hoping this [event] catapults into more people coming to the club,” French said. “We’re hoping that anyone who is not in [the club] feels like they can come and be part of the club.”

Students who are interested in attending the event can pick up their tickets in B116 for $5.
