Whats new in guidance

Luka Skudrzik- The guidance office is always bustling with information to spread out and process for students; especially, around this time of year. Currently, guidance is working on processing applications for seniors and meeting with freshman to discuss their plans for the next four years.

For seniors, the guidance office requests that you give them two weeks to process transcript requests. Most colleges have Early Action deadlines of Nov. 1. It is important to not wait until the last minute.

A scholarship called the Lilly Scholarship is currently being offered, and guidance is accepting nominations. To be eligible, the student must have at least a 3.0 GPA, financial need, leadership and community service. Also, he/she must plan to attend a university in Indiana. The deadline is Oct. 27.

Freshman meetings will be going on until mid-November. These meetings can be with parents or without them, but there will be discussion of academic, college and career goals.

In the month of November, the SAT is being offered on Nov. 8, and the deadline to register for the ACT is on Nov. 7.
