The Fishers Tiger Times staff would like to issue a formal apology for a mistake that our recent edition of the print newspaper featured.

In an attempt to highlight “Empowered Women” for Women’s History Month, we incorrectly misgendered an individual as female on the cover of the print newspaper that was passed out to students in school on Tuesday, March 15.

As a student publication staff, it is our responsibility to represent the students and stories at Fishers High School in an appropriate way, as well as verify all information before printing.

Fishers Tiger Times continually strives for accuracy and inclusivity, however, in this instance we did not uphold that practice and are already making changes to ensure that a mistake like this does not occur again.
