Having graduated from Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis with a bachelor’s degree in speech and communications, Colby knew he wanted to teach.“Ever since I was a kid, I’ve liked helping people,” Colby said. “It made me happy to help other people.”Colby first began to major in elementary education, then took a year off to try new things. He acted in community theater and joined ComedySportz Indianapolis, an improvisation league. Colby juggled work and performing for the Second City Conservatory in Chicago until graduating with his new major in theater.
