Mr. Smith delegates jobs to his students in class to do in order to complete sets for the upcoming musical, “Bring it On,” in Nov.

Mr. Andy Smith is a performing arts teacher who became the department chair of the performing arts department last year after Matthew Rund. He teaches a class named technical theater, known as tech theater for short.

All of the sets for the school plays and the musicals throughout the year are created and supervised by Mr. Smith in his tech theater class. Mr. Smith is the man behind the scenes that gets all of these sets created in time for the bigger shows that the performing arts departments perform during the fall and winter.

Smith spends about three hours at a local Menards using department funds to order all the materials his students need. Smith ensures that all of the sets are made without error so that on the day of the performance, the actors stay safe.

Smith does this job with a smile on his face everyday because he loves seeing the sets put into action.
