Senior Lily Sharp smiles and laughs while being crowned homecoming queen. Looking out and supporting Sharp from the stands was Junior Larkyn Muth, who looked back on the night and said, “The game was super fun, my choir got to sing the national anthem and one of my best friends won homecoming queen,” Muth said. “It was just an overall fun night!” The Homecoming football game was on Sept. 22.

Luka Skudrzik- If being on TV, outsmarting others and competing for the school excites you, then Quiz Bowl is a club to consider. This club is a competitive team that plays other schools in a trivia game.

Competitions for Quiz Bowl include common trivia games against other schools, the Brownsburg Dogfight and the Brain Game which airs on WTHR. Most of these competitions include both varsity and JV level teams.

“The best thing about it is that it’s a really interesting way, to not only learn new trivia, but also because, as you participate in it more, you see stuff that you have learned in your other classes, and it keeps you fresh on that,” senior Quiz Bowl member Thomas Ritz said.

There are no requirements needed to join the club. Anybody, regardless of previous knowledge, can join.

Practices are recommended but not mandatory for students. This allows people with other responsibilities to still be involved with Quiz Bowl.

They meet on Wednesdays and Thursday every week for about an hour. The meeting place is A216 which is the main sponsor’s, biology teacher Alex Smith’s, room. If anybody is interested in joining, they need to talk to Smith, or show up to a meeting.
