Cheerleaders raise money through pilates

Stretching and holding poses, 45 participants follow the pilates instructor leading the group at the front of the gym through a morning workout.
Pilates for Cheer was a fundraiser done for the cheerleading team on Sept. 22. The goal was to raise money for the cheerleading program. The idea was suggested by the booster club when working on brainstorming some fundraising ideas. Since one of the cheerleaders’ moms is a pilates instructor they brought her in to lead the group.
The team ended up raising $450 for the cheer program. Due to the success of the fundraiser, the cheer coach and school treasurer, Jennifer Hall, hopes that the team will be able to continue doing Pilates for Cheer each year from now on.
“It was nice to host an event that everyone could be involved in and get a great workout at the same time,” said Hall.
