Substitute teacher Samantha Ringo is replacing English teacher Andrea Bookmyer who is maternity leave for the semester. Even though Ringo knows this position is only temporary, she is enjoying her time at FHS.
Ringo graduated from Western Kentucky University in Louisville. After getting her degree in teaching she then subbed at a public school in Louisville. When she moved up to Indiana she subbed at HSE high school for a while before getting the temporary job here. She hopes that this position will open other doors for her in the long run.
“You can really find your identity here. After being here I really feel like I am a part of the gang,” Ringo said. “I am really thankful to have this position even though it is temporary. It is a good way to get to know the teachers and the school.”
