As Riley Dance Marathon approaches, students have many opportunities to show their school spirit. Riley week, from Feb. 27 to March 4, is filled with spirit days and after school events.

“It’s going to be a fun week because it’s full of spirit, there’s a lot of events happening every day leading up to the dance marathon and it’s all for a good cause,” Riley committee member junior Libby Cooper said.

Wintertainment will be held Wednesday at 7 p.m. in the auditorium and admission is $5. The fashion show is Thursday at 7 p.m. in the aux gym and costs five dollars. All proceeds from both nights go to Riley Foundation.

Friday is student choice day, with a pep session from 1:50-2:55 p.m. in the main gym. The Cancer Gala will then be held from 4 to 6 p.m. in the CCA.

Finally, Riley Dance Marathon is Saturday March 4 in the CCA. Admission is $25 and students can register before the event or in advance by contacting Chrissie Sturgill in C107.

“I’m looking forward to the no bell schedule because it’s different and interesting and we’ve never done it before,” Cooper said. “They also tried to make the spirit days more unique this year, and I appreciate that, but I feel like some people might have a hard time finding things to wear for them.”

For spirit days, students are encouraged to dress up to show their spirit. Monday is pajama day, Tuesday is pirate day, Wednesday is western day, Thursday is jersey day and Friday is red day.
