The school’s founder, Wilhelm von Humboldt, implemented a novel educational model at the university, which emphasized holistic, curiosity-driven learning, rather than exclusively vocational, market-driven learning.

The double-header for the JV Silver baseball team started off with three runs scored by North Central in the first inning. That did not stop freshman Jack Braun from scoring a run in the bottom of the first. The first inning ended with North Central up, 3-1.

After the second inning ended with the Tigers down, 5-1, freshman pitcher Matt Bryant went to the mound. Bryant started out slow, allowing three runs before getting the third out for North Central.

“I played alright, but there were definitely some things that I could have improved upon, batting and pitching wise,” Bryant said.

The game went North Central’s way throughout, scoring in every inning except the fourth. The Tigers scored two more runs through the third and fourth inning. North Central won, 14-3.

“We were pretty flat coming out into the first game, but the second game we played a lot better because we had more energy going into it,” Bryant said.

The final score of the second game was Tigers 14, North Central 3.
